I've been lucky to have visited Italy so much over the years for both work and play. I've gone from hostels and trains to boats and hotels, and visited small towns and big cities. I'm slightly torn because I think the tourist influx is too much... but I'd also say it's where i'd tell anybody to go first if they've never left the U.S.
Locations: Bolgheri, Bologna, Cecina, Firenze, Genova, La Spezia, Lucca, Manarola, Milano, Monterosso, Pisa, Ragusa, Riomaggiore, Roma, Sarteano, Siracusa, Venezia, Vernazza, Verona.

I drove our 3 person crew from NYC to Cleveland, Cleveland to Philadelphia, and back to NYC, to cover the 2016 RNC and DNC Conventions for Nate Silver's 'Fivethirtyeight'. I was able to shoot stills at various points and witnessed the controlled chaos of these historic events.

One of my most frequent subjects for hire on both photo and video. I've photographed food and events for several restaurants and hotels, and filmed hundreds of episodes of cooking shows and competitions.
Many of these photographs for Spin Magazine's 'It Happened Last Night'

Shortly after moving to Brooklyn, I got an unpaid gig shooting stills for a friend of mine who worked for Spin Magazine. I would go to the shows I had been assigned, and got free access (and drinks), paired with a writer who would review the show and interview crowd members and occasionally the band. Most of these were shot back then, with a few other lives shows and music videos.

I don't know why i'm so fascinated and amused and distracted watching other tourists. As one of the tourists roaming these heavily trafficked sites, I often wonder what others are taking away from their visits. Behind the lenses of cameras, or unaware of their surroundings, or fighting for the best spot to see something, or simply getting their picture taken to say they were there.

The NYC area has been my home base for almost 20 years, and still the potential photos I see everyday walking the streets are endless. I'm often overwhelmed by all the moments I want to capture on film, and all the art happenings that I want to witness. Architecture, people, oddities, glamour and garbage, this place has everything, and I love it.

When I was in my teens I was big into collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, and I guess this is sort of an extension of that. To my knowledge I no longer have the Coca Cola collection, unless it's stashed in my parent's attic, which is entirely possible, I'll have to check on that. I tried to capture the global reach of the brand and grab a shot wherever I go and spot the timeless logo of the world's favorite soft drink.

Most of these were taken on a trip across South America with my brother in 2007. We traveled by bus, boat, and plane, in 5 countries. The photos from Paraguay were taken on a work trip visiting sugar plantations and talking to organic sugar farmers.
